how do I make my Graphics card sideways?

I saw a picture of a guy with an NZXT H440 case. And he has his Gigabyte R9 280x Windforce card Sideways. You can see the fans on it directly because the fans are facing the case window and the card is completely sideways using an extension on the memory to plug it it.

My question is how would I get the back of my case to match up with a graphics card Sideways?

That looks pretty awesome, but I don't think it would be good for airflow to the GPU and it sounds like a lot of effort and modding for not very much. I agree with the post above, he must have have to cut out a section in the back of the case or something. :)
