This might get a little bit complicated. I live in a house with 2 internet connections. I got my own since my brother's is too slow for me (especially when he is streaming videos).

He pays for a 3mbps line and I pay for a 50mbps line.
My modem is connected upstairs and his is connected downstairs. I have it wired to a router which is directly connected to my computer. The router is a Linksys-WRT54G V6 with Firmware: DD-WRT v24-sp2.

Once or twice a day, my modem seems to throw a fit. It loses connection and all the lights go off except the power, and does it's little blinking dance trying to connect back to the internet. Sometimes it will connect back right away, other times it takes 10-15 minutes. And usually it will connect for 2-3 minutes and then disconnect all over again.

It also doesn't matter what I'm doing. Playing BF4, Minecraft, watching a stream, watching Youtube. It's more common for it to happen at night.

I don't think it's a problem with Comcast since my brothers internet seems to work even when mine is down, and when I check online with Comcast's Connection Status, it tells me "Connected".

Thanks for any ideas you guys might have. I'm trying to look through the settings in the 192.168.1.1 router config but I'm no pro at networking so I can't see what might be wrong.
