Hi,

I have been trying to fix this problem for the last week. I have googled and googled and experimented - all of it leading to nothing.

My hardware is
Gigabyte Z87x-UD5H
dual Asus R9-280X
LG 1080p 27" monitor connected via DVI
ATEN 1784A KVM switch.

Whenever I try to send the system to sleep and awaken it, it returns fully functional except the display will not turn back on. I have tried various BIOS power settings. Nothing seems to make a difference. When it comes back up from sleep, I hear the sound that windows makes when you unplug a peripheral so it sounds like it thinks I have unplugged either the monitor or pulled out the graphics card - I'm not sure which - because I can't see because MY DISPLAY ISN"T WORKING! lol

I've tried all the different graphics drivers between 12.X and the latest beta drivers which are currently installed - 14.something.

Oh and it's not the KVM that's the problem. I already tried it without the KVM and it still does it.

I would really appreciate some help figuring out how to fix this.

Regards

So while I was typing my question, I realised I could RDP into the windows pc from my linux server. So I did that after coming back from sleep and getting a blank screen, I RDP into the windows PC and discover that the graphics cards are listed in devices but the monitor is not. Just for fun I did a scan for new hardware and the monitor came up...Huh? So I used my kvm switch to switch back to Windows and guess what? The login screen is greeting me. hmm

I get the same thing with Windows 8.1

My system is quite different to yours as well. I have since turned off all sleep modes, etc, and just turn the monitor off if I have to leave the computer for a short while. Shut down if I intend to leave it for longer periods.
