hi there, i recently built a new pc and everything seems to work good. there is just on thing that im worried about. my graphics card(saphire amd r9 290x) is getting really hot. when not doing anything really its 55-65 degrees, but when i start up a game it increases to 85-95 degrees. read online that amd said they have it under control, but these temperatures are extreme. any tips for cooling it down?
here is a picture of the airflow:

R9 290X - The temperature under heavy game stress for the card stabilized at roughly 94 Degrees C.

Now AMD states that the temperature is perfectly normal and within specifications. But we have to admit, that is very high. The cooler is pretty good though that it will exhaust the hot air. But with such temperatures there will be heat coming from the PCB and that remains inside the PC. Please make sure your PC is well ventilated at all times, this will seriously help you on the overall GPU temperatures.

That's the straight dope so it seems.

Looking at the attached picture it seems like you have a reference cooler (they take heat out not in as per the picture). The only thing i can think of is to underclock it or get a aftermarket cooler, see this:

The reference cards are known to run hot, and they do tend to throttle themselves due to heat. Having said that, the card can run just fine at 95 degrees (some gpu's such as the GTX 480/580 have even been to run fine at 95 - 100 degrees).

You can get a aftermarket cooler if you really want to lower it, like the nzxt G10

Reference 290x produces tons of heat, it is a known "issue", I personally dodged this issue with my Tri-X, I just have this mental block that makes me freak out the moment I see a card going over 90c, but it is "ok"ish. I guess.

You dont seem to have any exhaust fans in the case at the moment, you really should turn those 3 fans at the top the other way around (2 on the cpu heatsink, 1 at the back of the case). Now they just suck the hot air exhausted by the card back into the case again...
