When I turned my computer on this morning the GPU had just stopped being detected. I've had to plug my vga into the motherboard to get video output and I can't reinstall the drivers because the program says it doesn't detect my card.

The only thing that I have done since the last time I booted it is removed a VGA from the GPU and plugged it back in.

My GPU is an MSI GTX 770 and there are no beeps when it boots up. Also the GPU fans are running.

More about : gpu detected video output

I had similar issues , If you have an empty PCie Slot try and plug it in the other empty slot , should be back up again.

I opened the computer up and reseated it and now it is overriding the motherboard, so it's detected, which is awesome. But... I uninstalled the graphics drivers before thinking they were corrupt and you can't install them without a GPU in but I need the GPU out to boot it so it doesn't override the mobo graphics (Which is all I can get output from without the drivers). Any ideas?

I had similar issues as well. Unfortunately, my GPU turned out to be broken. But like Luca said, your GPU manufacturer should have drivers on their site. Look around.

Yeah but I can't install the drivers because you need the GPU plugged in to install them, but when I plug my GPU in I get no display because I already uninstalled the graphics drivers thinking they were corrupt.

Yeah. It just says the same thing, no device found (because the gpu isn't plugged in).

alright try and switch the settings on your Bios to make your dedicated GPU the Default option not the on board GPU. That should work

I saw that in other posts so I've been trying to do it but I can't find the option. I have an msi zz7a-g45 motherboard. What section would it be under?

I booted it in safe mode with the GPU plugged in and it didn't work and I believe in safe mode it is supposed to use the VGA drivers so my card must be faulty.

I fixed it. My problem at the beginning was that when taking the VGA out I'd nudged the GPU out its PCI slot, but then I uninstalled the graphic drivers thinking they were corrupt (As I'd read online) only to realise I couldn't re-install them because the GPU had to be out for me to install the drivers.

The solution was to set the default display device to IGD, boot the computer with the GPU in, install the drivers, reboot and BOOOOYAAA.
