The case and the PSU simply arent gonna cut it for a high-end build.

Change the PSU to HX750. CX is for cheap builds, bad quality.

i think the price is ok, after tax.

Thanks. Is the r9 290 enough for 1440p gaming? I am really not going to play 4K because monitors are pretty expensive. So, I want to save a few hundred by buying a r9 290 instead and use that money towards a good 1440p monitor.

If you're not worried about AA/full Ultra settings (like a mix of High/Ultra), it will be fine. The card was made for 1440p gaming.
