I've recently bought intel i5-4670k with intel hd graphics 4600 and hooked it up with asus z97-k, resulting in 3 possible outputs VGA,DVI-D,HDMI.
I currently posses two monitors which i would like to connect but the problem is that they both have only VGA inputs.
I guess there is no way to get a passive adaptor for dvi-d so I would need to get an active adaptor.

Is there an other option? Ultimately, if it isn't, should i consider getting a new monitor or purchasing an active adapter ?

Thanks, I will go with an adaptor, but just a quick question, as I have seen many cheap scams, will HDMI connector have enough power for active adaptor ? Shouldn't there be an external power source ?

I'm fairly sure the one I listed is an active adapter. Might be a bit more pricey but it's more likely to be reliable than one from asia. Its just all on your budget I'm afraid.
