I have an an issue with my PC shutting down with heavy gaming (SWTOR, COD, etc). It doesn't happen while I'm doing normal things like web surfing, music, etc. At time when I restart after 10-20secs I get a BIOS prompt to enter setup and if I fail to catch it the PC shuts back down. Some days I can game half the day and it doesn't shut down. Other days 3 minutes into gaming and POOF...shut down.

Specs:
1: MSI FM2 A75MA-E35 motherboard
2: OEM AMD A10-5800K 3.8Ghz Black edition APU /w Radion 7660HD built-in
3: 16G Corsair Vengeance DRR3 PC15000 memory
4: Corsair CX series 600 watt Power supply
5: Win8.1

Thank you in advance for any help!

Solution
no it should not be dry.........clean the old thermal paste with rubbing alcohol....reapply the new thermal paste just a drop as the size of a pea and spread it evenly with a plastic card or plastic screwdriver dont use metal u may scratch the surface....install the heatsink properly it should not be loose......or best go for an aftermarket cooler like coolermaster hyper 212 evo best bang for buck cooler ....http://www.amazon.com/Cooler-Master-Hyper-212-RR-212E-20PK-R2/dp/B005O65JXI/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1406493656&sr=8-1&keywords=hyper+212+evo

MooO system monitor is saying temp is averaging 60 degrees C. HWmonitor is saying 116 degrees C. on CPU (package slot), and 104 degrees C on GPU. this is with stock OEM fan from AMD.

TMPIN0 is saying 87 degrees C,
TMPIN1 49 C
TMPIN2 44 C

Well, I turned my case fan around so it pushed air over the APU area. Also found the CPU/APU cooler assembly is a little loose. Also that the paste is dry/cracked. Any suggestions on a decent cooler that doesn't count a lot?

Thanks guys, I found the Evo 212 fan already and a new tube of coolmaster paste (syringe style) to order. I tried bending the retainer spring a little to make the heat sink sit correctly on the APU. But that was a fail so off to shopping I go.
