I have recently transferred my parts from one case to another. In the process I took the processor off. And some thermal paste got onto the CPU holder.(into the little holes). I know this is dumb, but it was my first time. When I connect everything to the new case and turn it on it starts to work, but nothing appears on the monitor. Then it turns off in 30 seconds. NOTE: when I turn it on, the thing that sits on the processor(I forget what it is called) makes a weird noise. Any help would be great.

You really need to get that CPU socket clean. If you aren't comfortable doing it yourself I'd suggest speaking to a professional in your area ASAP. And do you mean the CPU fan makes a weird noise on boot? What sort of weird noise?
