So I'm getting the CM Storm Scout 2 Advanced and it comes with 3 case fans (2 front, 1 back) and I'm thinking of adding 5 more fans (2 side, 2 top, 1 bottom). Please don't just say this is overkill or I don't need it. I want to know which way I should hav my fans facing. If I want 4 intake and 4 outtake or what. And which ones intake and which ones outtake. Thanks

Normally the front and bottom as intakes. The top and rear of the cases are exhausts.
You want positive pressure in your case so more intakes than exhausts for optimised airflow.

What about the side ones?

Sides are situational depending what is next to it.
If there is space near the bottom half of the case then choose intake.

Rear and Top are exhaust....everything else is intake. The reason you generally don't want side panel fans as exhausts is that they short circuit air intake from the front intakes and exhaust it before it gets a chance to get to lotta the hot stuff. In general, maore intakes than exhaust but not for the reasons most peeps think. There are two:

1. Decent case will generally have air filters on fan intake ports; if ya don't have filters, then how many out and in makes no difference whatsoever.

2. Where ya have GFX cards with rear exhaust ports, reartop intake ports can such that hot air back in.
