Upgrade ram or cpu?

Hi. I am not sure if I should upgrade my ram or cpu. I got a $500 budget. I would upgrade my gpu but I can't find any more water cooled gtx 770s that have 4gb of ram. I am also already happy with gpu performance. I normally don't use over 5gb of my 8gb of ram under full load. I do lots of video rendering but my 8gb of ram seems to be enough. Only thing I am not to satisfied with is cpu performance and it is really difficult to maintain a good over clock because it is locked. Seems like I will probably get the 4930k. Just wanted to see if you guys have some suggestions.

You've basically answered your own question there... You've said you don't really use more than 8GB of ram, so i'm assuming you'd be upgrading to 16GB. Where as you say you're not satisfied with CPU performance, so upgrade that if your mobo is compatible etc...

My cpu is the i7 3820.

If you're willing to buy a motherboard, by all means, upgrade your CPU.
