I want to make Gmod and Minecraft servers for myself and my friends to play on. I have successfully port forwarded my router to the correct ports but when I try to give my computer a static ip I lose Internet access.

I am running Windows 7 off of a desktop computer with 16GB of RAM and an i7-4771 CPU.
My network specs are:
Default Gateway: 192.168.0.1
Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
Static ip: 192.168.0.14

Did you set DNS up too? You can use Google DNS 8.8.8.8

Be sure your gateway is correct. Can you reach your router at 192.168.0.1? Also to do this you need to go into the device adapter properties and use the IPV4 for these settings. Not IPV6.
