Hello everyone, I had a few questions about adding an external graphics card to my laptop.
I did some googling and came across this article among many similar ones to help me.
The only problem is that my laptop doesn't have a ExpressCard slot.
So I was wondering if I use this product to make this project work.
(I noticed you can use a PCI Express slot too, but my laptop doesn't have one, I think. I also don't think you can find an adapter to make it work.)
I have an
"HP ENVY dv7-7243cl Notebook PC".
I have a MSI R9 280 GAMING Graphics Card to use for it.
(I have been collecting parts for a gaming desktop, but I haven't finished it quite yet.)
I don't mind spending a bit for some payoff. I don't plan on upgrading to a desktop anytime soon so I really need something to dump up my laptop's performance a notch.
I read that using GPUs like this will bottleneck it, but I don't mind as long as it boosts my laptop. (My GPU has been sitting around being unused waiting for me to finish getting all my parts anyway)
Any help?
