I got a pc from a friend. It's a Dell Optiplex 320. I upgraded the ram to 4gb and the processor to a Pentium Dual Core E2180 due to the fact of it having a single core. It was relying on the onboard graphics so I put in a EVGA Geforce 9500gt that I had laying around from my Dad's old build after I had upgraded it to a gtx 460 way back when that was out. I put it into the computer and it boots extremly slow and lags alot. I installed the driver from the original disk and downloaded it from evgas website on my laptop and transfered it via flash drive and tried both options by installing the one and after uninstalling it and putting it back in. In Device Manager it gave me error code 12. All I could find online is about the sli card configurations which I am not using. I also tried the ATI Radeon HD2400 from an optiplex 755 that a friend didn't need due to the fact of upgrading the graphics card that was in the 755. It doesnt want to boot into windows for 5 minutes and when it does the colors are all funky. I need help badly with this pc!!!

Ok then I think you will have a good shot with the suggestions I made above.

What model is you motherboard?

Also what wattage does your PSU produce? It may also be because the card's not getting enough power.

Alright I got it to work.

The previous owner of the pc upgraded the ram and after I removed the dimm it worked fine with the gpu. The Optiplex 320 can only take 2gb of ram rather than 4gb which was in it before
