Okay, so I previously posted a thread yesterday, I had an issue where my computer shut off (no warning) at boot. Upon further inspection I saw that my new gpu heatsink wasn't making proper contact so i fixed that and now it gets further into boot, it can reach my desktop now. But shortly after loses power again. Somethings I've tried to do to fix
- Reseat everything thing
-Unplug all peripherals
- reseat cpu and reapply thermal compound
-reseat gpu and reapply thermal compound
- boot with one stick of ram (changing slots also)
-reset CMOS
- Clean everything

Something that i've noticed though, my CPU gets really hot. I mean REALLY hot really fast. By the time it shuts off my cpu is over a hundred degrees (keep in mind it only stays on for like thirty secs, so in thirty secs it gets really hot). All my fans are working, but my cpu is cooled by my water cooling system so i can't be sure that thats still functioning properly. My question is, what is the problem? Is my water cooler malfunctioning and not working? Is my CPU dead (Would it still boot up to desktop if my cpu was fried?)? Please help :C

Your computer will shut down upon overheating. How much thermal paste did you use?

What kind of case are you using? and what type of CPU cooler do you have installed? This sounds like an OVerheating issue for sure. Your CPU upon boot not overclocked should not be hitting 100c

and if you are using a water cooler something is 100% wrong there and it is not cooling the CPU properly. I doubt its burnt up dont worry there. Just got to find out why the water cooling is not doing its job.

And if you do have it overclocked. tune that down lol...
