I built a new PC this weekend and I decided to transfer the GPU from my old machine into the new one I was building. I had the XFX Radeon HD 7870 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150605). I bought it in January and it was working fine, with 4 monitors. Then when I installed it into my new build, first thing I get from my mobo when I turn it on is 3 small beeps after the 1 long beep, which according to the manual means no VGA detected. So I pulled up an old graphics card I had, the GeForce GT 430 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814500204&nm_mc=TEMC-RMA-Approvel&cm_mmc=TEMC-RMA-Approvel-_-Content-_-text-_-), and tried that out and it worked fine in my new build. I was able to get Windows installed and everything up and running.

Then I put in the Radeon 7870 into my old PC and the monitors no longer turn on. It was working perfectly fine 2 days ago! I should mention that the fans on the GPU are running on both builds, but the monitors will not turn on. Did I break my graphics card while removing/ installing into new PC?

Update: I blew off all of the dust that accumulated on my GC, and there actually was quite a bit. I then reseated the GC and it actually worked. But only for 10 minutes. Then while I was in the middle of browsing on the web my monitor just went in sleep mode. And since then my GC is back to the same problem. This is kind of weird at this point.

@DeadGraphics: Yes I tried all of that. I've used this GC in the past on my old PC and even tried it on my old PC and it wasn't working.

How old is your graphics card?
Because if it is quite old it might be coming to the end of it's life cycle

They're meant to last at least twice that amount at the absolutely bare minimum, You might have been putting too much of a heavy load on this card, Four monitors is a lot for a mid range card
