I built a new PC this weekend and I decided to transfer the GPU from my old machine into the new one I was building. I had the XFX Radeon HD 7870 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150605). I bought it in January and it was working fine, with 4 monitors. Then when I installed it into my new build, first thing I get from my mobo when I turn it on is 3 small beeps after the 1 long beep, which according to the manual means no VGA detected. So I pulled up an old graphics card I had, the GeForce GT 430 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814500204&nm_mc=TEMC-RMA-Approvel&cm_mmc=TEMC-RMA-Approvel-_-Content-_-text-_-), and tried that out and it worked fine in my new build. I was able to get Windows installed and everything up and running.
Then I put in the Radeon 7870 into my old PC and the monitors no longer turn on. It was working perfectly fine 2 days ago! I should mention that the fans on the GPU are running on both builds, but the monitors will not turn on. Did I break my graphics card while removing/ installing into new PC?
