I have a good idea how networking works. Right now with my ISP I have one external static ip. All of my computers/devices have this one external static ip, why isn't there a conflict? I have a Sonicwall at my home as the main router as well, I have opened the port 21 on the sonicwall on a computer with an interal ip 192.168.1.3 (example) so that I can connect to the computer on port 21 externally.

Now, if I wanted to open let's say, port 25 on another computer with the same external ip address, would it work or would there be a conflict then?

Basically, is it possible to keep the static ip address for multiple computers and opening ports with the help of a proxy or dns?

Common Ports: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_TCP_and_UDP_port_numbers

If the router is correctly setup.. your External IP address is set to the Router's WAN port... the the LAN side is set to the local computer and devices...

The Firewall portion of the SonicWall need the port forwarding set from the external trigger to the internal system and port. Not just Opened... so ftp://62.135.24.243:21 is the Public IP and Port hitting the Router. The port forwarding needs to know where to send the information referenced by the Port 21 request.
