I have had a RAID5 set up using 3x 3Tb WD Reds for the past year or so with no issues.. Until I tried to update Win8 to Win8.1 this weekend.

The Winsows update did not work and upon searching this forum a possible solution was to update all drivers including the MoBo Bios. I decided to start with the MoBo.

Well after the BIOS update my Raid5 was gone and the Reds show up seperatly.

The Raid5 was set up through the Ibtel RST program in Windows. The program will no longer run either.

My MoBo is an Asus Maximus V Gene.

The SATA mode is still in AHCI in the BIOS

What went wrong.. How can I fix it?
THANKS!

Updating the bios or even a significant OS alteration often breaks the RAID array, one reason that motherboard RAID (either using the bios RAID or Intel RST) is unreliable.

You can often use a utility program to recover the RAID and restore your data. There are many that work, including reclaime, raid reconstructor, and r-studio. There are many others too but these all work and I think that they all have at least a free trial to see if they will do the job.
