I have a HP computer, can provide motherboard if needed.

I had an nvidia graphics card which was working fine and dandy however one day it seemed to just give up. Whenever I tried to turn on my PC I would get absolutely no signal/splash screen whatsoever and the graphics card would be running at full power with the fan spinning fast.

I decided to get a new one which was a complete nightmare to install (I think due to driver issues) however I eventually got it working. It's not as good as my old one so I decided today, to give my old one another go.
When I took the new one out and put the old one in, it had the exact same problem as before (which didn't surprise me).

I took the old one out and put my new one back in, however now I am getting no picture at all with my new one, and the fans are running quietly (not at full power)

I tried a spare graphics card to test which I had lying about and that has the same problem as my old card (fans running really fast however no picture).

To try and resolve this problem I tried connecting to VGA, but get no signal.

I have tried DVI with my old card, HDMI with my new card and the spare one I had lying around was DVI also, all have given me no signal (including VGA).

I don't think this is a motherboard problem, as the computer was working fine last night, problems only arose when I decided to try out my old card to see if it would work as now none of the cards are giving any signal. I think it's a driver issue but I am unable to even boot into the bios to format or anything like that.

Anyone have any advice?

HP PC
Windows 7
Tested: 3 graphics card & VGA
Tested: DVI, HDMI, VGA

EDIT: Forgot to mention all the beeps on the PC when I turn it on are normal, I put in a disk and I heard it spinning and recognising there is a disk inserted.

Thanks!

I don't have any spare cables, tried using a selection of different ones relevant to each respective graphics card though and a VGA. I'll try dig out another one

so do one thing remove every cables connected from the cpu to the board...remove the gpu ,ram, processor,hd cables ,dvdrom cables,BIOS battery mouse keyboard almost every thing... press the case power for 10 seconds to drain out the stored power and then after 5 min put them back properly as before ....this step worked for me many times so if its not a motherboard issue than this may help try it....
