gigabyte gtx 660 VS. sapphire r9 270. Which is better and what is the noticible difference in games. like bf4. AC blackflag, call of duty blackops2.bioshock infinite and etc.
Is playing more NVidia sponsored games better with a GeForce card?

I don't know the answer to the first part, but for the last question, no, not really, I mean there might be a few fps difference and a few more fancy particle effects but all games run well on any good card, AMD or Nvidia, although there were some exception where there was like 5-10fps difference on some games

Its about 5% in favor of the 270.
http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/ASUS/R9_270_Direct_C...

The 270 is slightly cheaper and gives you a slight performance edge. I would pick it up.

Second, there may be up to 10FPS, closer to 1-2 depending on games.

Hi -
In the latest Toms "Best Graphic Cards..." article, these two chipsets are approximately equivalent.
http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/gaming-graphics-car...

What would make one card different from another, in this case, would be the amount of video RAM, whether the card is OCed from the factory, etc.

I'm an NVIDIA fanboy, so I'd pick the GTX, but they are probably both good cards.

I don't know if an "NVidia sponsored" game will play better on one of their cards or not, but it seems like it's a reasonable assumption. Maybe someone else can answer this with more authority than I.

Hope this helps.

If you want to play watchdogs go for it. The extra price would level out with the game, but you will knowingly sacrifice performance. Its not much performance lost, but its there.

Comparison: http://gpuboss.com/gpus/Radeon-R9-270X-vs-GeForce-GTX-6... (I know this is the 270x version, but there is almost no substantial difference between the 270 and 270x.)

The cards run nearly the same. It comes down to what CPU you pair the GPUs with. I myself have always used AMD GPUs as well as AMD processors.
Your performance difference with the cards will be almost nothing, maybe 5 fps depending on if you pair it with for example a i5 and a amd fx 8350. Games that are single threaded will see more performance with the gtx 660 and an i5. Multi-threaded games will see more performance with r9 series and 8350 Eight Core.

http://gpuboss.com/gpus/Radeon-R9-290-vs-GeForce-GTX-77...

If you see, even the higher end r9 290 and gtx 770 are identical. It comes down to the CPU.

Just letting you know, GPU boss isnt a very trustworthy source. They base their comparisons on synthetic benches, get specs wrong frequently, and are biased on several occasions (Same thing goes for all boss sites, cpu boss etc.)

Unless you really want watchdogs, then no, but it's all preference, as people have said before, the difference is very slight, but watchdogs is one of those 'nvidia sponsered games' ( Forgot the proper name for titles that it's called) so you would think that nvidia cards run better on it? But it seems that it's been poorly coded so it's quite demanding of even the best GPU's and oh one last thing, pros of nvidia, more power efficient and sometimes more powerful, forgot to mention that, it's also a old wives tale that AMD CPU runs betetr with AMD GPU, which is true I think, ( PC Gamer did a test on it once) But people tend to go for nvidia cards if they have a intel rig

games are normally single thread, multi thread is only for tasks like rendering etc.

I am going with the gtx 660 since you gus are saying there is very tiny difference and also because the gtx is coming with watchdogs.

Battlefield 4, Watch Dogs, Black Flag, and Bioshock are all multithreaded. Black Ops 2 is not.
