Im new to the world of building computers ive actually never built one due to my financial situation. But ive gathered $600 and i decided its time to finally build one and move on up from console to PC. Ive been watching many youtube and fell confident i can build one. My budget is to try and stay under $600. Ive built two potential pc on PCPartPicker.com and would really appreciate it if some one can look over them and tell me witch of the two is the better PC for gaming. Also am i able to crossfire the R9 280 with the FM2+ build on the the mother board i chose ? Well here the links to the list of the 2 builds i made. Thanks for taking the time to read this.

If you have a better gaming build for $600 or less PLEASE let me know !

Solution
I just designed a $600 gaming system (including Windows) after much, much research and it was designed around the G3258 Intel dual-core CPU.

I looked at BENCHMARKS for the CPU in particular while factoring in how much I could put towards the graphics card.

The G3258 either matched or tied the X4-760K. It beat the FX-8350 in many games but fell behind in well threaded ones like BF4 but it's $65 which also means a lot more money towards a graphics card. The FX-8350 wasn't even an option anyway.

I also got an ASUS H81 mini-ITX board though other mATX or ATX H8x boards were overclockable. I'll put my build together (including Windows) again for fun.

Well the difference between the two is simple. Very simple in fact, and I will list a few good things about each to differentiate between the two!

AM3+
- Powerhorse
- Takes a lot of power to run
- Good for multitasking
- Needs seperate graphics...
- Good for gaming
- More expensive usually then FM2+
- Usually has 6 or 8 cores!

FM2+
- Needs no extra graphics card
- Made for mobile laptops usually
- Upgrade path is strong
- Not so good for gaming at all
- Usually cheaper

what if i add a r9 280 to the FM2+ in crossfire ?
Is that possible ? And if is it worth doing?

Impossible, the APU's don't have crossfire capabilities with ANY of the R9 series, only a select few in the older "HD" series and barely any in the R7. Personally, I would go with AM3+

$591 build: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/3JTkWZ (after MIR)

Swap mini-ITX case and board for similar ATX/mATX if desired. The parts are fairly explanatory but you need to consider the CPU and Graphics card combo first. You really can't beat the G3258 for $65 which again does quite well at times. I then have sufficient funds for an R9-270X which is similar to an HD7950.

For the power supply I also made sure it was Semi-Modular due to the small case but if you don't get mini-ITX you may not care.

Update: some G3258 gaming benchmarks:

G3258 beats FX-8350 (Skyrim; roughly ties for Shogun 2):http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/2014/06/24/intel-pentium-g3258-review/5

FIVE games compared to i5, i7: http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/digitalfoundry-2014-pentium-g3258-review
(Note the G3258 does almost as well for two games especially when overclocked which you can do though not 4.5GHz. Falls well behind in BF4, Crysis 3 and Metro LL but these are three of the most CPU intensive games. However it's not directly comparable as the budget is different and if you buy a better CPU you have no money for a good graphics card... )

*I did have a link comparing the X4-760K and the G3258 won that on average. The X4-760K is the ONLY comparable CPU at your budget. It may have four cores but it's weaker per core. A game really needs to use most of the four cores of the 760K for this CPU to beat the G3258.
