i have gateway ne71b laptop 64 bit with windows 8. when i shut it down it went into repair mode and froze. won't boot up except with windows 7 backup disk. won't recover with recovery disks that i created from system so i bought recovery disks. same problem. i can only get into safe mode with 7 backup. it keeps asking for a file to recover, but every file i select is wrong file. it only recogonizes 32 bit. not 64 bit. i've tried everything to no avail. i can't find hard drive. please help!

but it's only a year old and i read where a lot of people were having the same problem with windows 8 getting stuck in repair mode. whoever came out with windows 8 should be !!!! it sucks!
