So I'm getting an FX 8350 + Asus M5A99X Evo R2.0, would it be worth getting the cooler right now even though I don't plan on overclocking for quite a while?
i ran with the stock cooler on my 8320 at 4.2 for two months while i saved money for my waterloop, its fine if you have a good case to quiet the noise down, plus most gamers wear headsets while they play anyways
No, a cpu cooler isn't necessary , stick with the stock one as it's desgined to keep the cpu cool when it's not overclcoked and if the cpu gets too hot, just get a evo 212
The main reason to get a better cooler if you are not overclocking is to lower noise levels. The stock FX-8350 cooler is known for being a bit loud so that might be a reason to get a better cooler.
