Same problem here. Boot device LED still lit and have disconnected all sata data and power cables. I have also backflashed to the newest update for my motherboard (Asus Maximus VII Hero). What should I do?

I can't even access my bios. The board reads A0 in the top right hand corner and the red boot device led is on still. My monitor still has no signal.

Try this, it worked for me:

"this may sound funny but ive had this happen a few times on my z97-A. To fix it I have to unplug my storage device, boot the pc, trun it off then plug in the storage device and it fixes it. It only happened to my when I changed out hardware and no clue why but it seemed to fix it."

this worked for me as well! i disconnected the power and sata cables from all of my hard/optical drives, booted up the computer, then turned it off, then connected all the power and sata cables to all of my hard/optical drives, then powered back up. it works now! cured boot device led and cured my blank monitor :D

I am having this issue on a z97-a. Stays on 'Press del or f2 for bios settings' indefinitely and can't access bios settings, boot order led is on.

Fixes it by unplugging all sata ports and plugging back in (as mentioned here), except for me it is happening randomly when the pc is rebooted...

Any ideas for a better solution?

I had a similar issue on start up and the times I waited 20min for start up, at shut down. Come to find out windows identified my printer as a bootable drive and for some reason took priority over my ssd with OS. Simply had to reboot without peripherals connected and it starts beautifully. During the early stages of troubleshooting I found one of the hard drive cables not disconnected but not fully latched either. Take your time to check everything that should be in place is fully in place, clipped and clicked, and then, remove all unnessisary peripherals and attempt boot.

Hm, I have not fully fixed this issue... Now much less common, but happens occasionally on reboot.

Fix I have found is going in and unplugging a certain SSD sata cable, rebooting (it will go through the boot cycle fine when unplugged), plugging cable back in and reboots fine. Maybe a problem with my drive/cable? Just strange, since worked fine for years on my old mobo and no problems with the drive except on boot
