Help with Graphics upgrade please!

Hi I wanted to upgrade my gaming computer because I want to run most games on ultra but cant, and I don't know what I should get first. I was thinking about getting a new graphics card first the Sapphire HD 7950 3GB.Please leave me some feedback it would be very helpful! Here is my build:

AMD Athlon X4 750K Trinity Quad-Core 3.4GHz
MSI FM2-A75MA-E35 FM2 AMD A75 (Hudson D3) HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 Micro ATX AMD Motherboard
GIGABYTE GV-R927XOC-2GD Radeon R9 270X 2GB
8GB Corsair Vengeance DDR3 1600
500W Corsair CX500 Power Supply

Is the Intel Core i5-4670K a better choice with a MSI Z87-G43 Gaming ATX LGA1150 Motherboard?

That seems reasonable enough. AMD athlon quad cores aren't the best of CPU's typically although doing a bit of research into yours it seems better than most and honestly i'm kind of surprised you can't already run most games on ultra... Try overclocking the CPU if it isn't already and see if you can get a few extra fps out of it. Still that being said the i5 will definitely serve you better than a quad core AMD.
