Hello here!
I have a problem to my laptop. This morning it gave me a message: "Please insert a valid boot media and reboot.." or something similar. I tried to reboot and I had a black screen.
I tried to use the windows dvd, creating a bootable usb, nothing helped. Just black screen (the monitor doesn't even turn on).
I reset the bios removing the bios battery and this actually did help. I could boot into the machine, windows gave me blue screen so I tried to format and everything was fine.
After a reboot I went back to the black screen.
I tried again with the bios reset but this time took the machine a good 30 seconds of black screen before showing the Sager logo (I have a sager np8235) and actually boot.
The machine works perfectly fine.. when it boots!
Sometimes I have to turn it off and on several times before it will boot (otherwise just blue screen with the monitor off, everything off, just the power button is lit).
Any suggestion? Anyone had the same issue? I have the feeling something on the motherboard (relate to booting) just died.
I would like to avoid to send it to repair since I will have to leave for the entire august but I'm not sure what to do.
(I did't do any overclock)
Thanks!

Hellow there, I believe your problem might be memory related if not the motherboard. Remove your memory dimms and clean the sockets by brushing them to remove any dusty particles. Also try to clean the memory contacts with a clean dry cloth and return them to test if the problem is solved. Also try testing with different memory dimms so as to eliminate any memory issues. If all of this doesn't help, then you might be having a faulty motherboard.
