Is this enough to run a high end game?

Hi, I'm not quite experienced with computer models and speculations but I've searched up that this graphic card should be good to play certain games like Far Cry 3/Battlefield 4/Sleeping Dogs at a high setting. With my rig, is this true or would I need to upgrade my graphic card? Because when I do play high end games, I still have FPS lag.

System Spec:

Processor: AMD FX(tm)-8150 Eight Core Processor
Memory: 8GB
DirectX 11
Graphics Card: AMD Radeon HD 7700

If I do need to upgrade, what graphic card would you recommend? My budget would be about $300~400

That is similar to my old build! I had an 8120 @3.1 GHz and an AMD 7850. I had a corsair 750w PSU with 8Gb ram and a WD 1tb Black HDD.
I got about 35-50 fps on Ultra Settings on Battlefield. DayZ Standalone and DayZ Mod I would get an average of 25-35 (Which is good for a game that is as poorly optimized as DayZ). If you get frames similar to these, you shouldn't be expecting much more from your system.

As far as upgrading the GPU goes, you may want to look into upgrading your CPU as well. The games you have listed are all Multi-threaded games which are heavily CPU intensive instead of GPU.

I recently upgraded my CPU to the AMD FX-8350 and the R9 290 TRI-X OC. I can get over 100 fps on anything I play easily.

For your Budget you need to keep in mind that a higher end GPU may also require a better Power Supply. Most of the new AMD R7-R9 GPUs require at least a 500w power supply with 2 PCI connectors. Your motherboard obviously can use the new AM3+ Sockets since you have a 8150, so upgrading to the 8350 would be no problem.

I hope this gives you some incite. If would like to know what I recommend, I will gladly post you some links with the costs.

Games like Resident Evil 6 at a low setting gives me great FPS but when I set it at any higher resolution, I begin to have FPS lag. Although my rig seems to be okay, I'd still like to have a bit of an upgrade to enhance my gaming experience. What would you recommend?

Leaving the budget at a decent price. (Not too high but realistically enough to pay for and to have a good gaming experience.)

Do you think GTX 660 is better than AMD Radeon HD 7700?
