I'm afraid you're already maxed out on RAM for that board. You can try upping the RAM, but it's doubtful that your system will be able to use it.

I'm afraid that doesn't really make any difference. Whether you use 4 x 1GB, 2 x 2GB or 1 x 4GB, you're still maxed out at 4GB total (and you're probably only using 3.2GB of the 4GB). Unless you want to change out your motherboard (and probably your CPU, also) you're kind of stuck. Upgrading OEM systems can be a real pain in the ass, because they're not designed with customization and upgrading in mind.

Depending on what speed RAM you're currently using, you could try adding faster RAM, but DDR2 is not in general production anymore and so can be quite expensive - the ones I looked at cost at least twice what the DDR3 equivalent would be. I seriously doubt that the improvement in performance (which will be marginal) is worth the cost.

I don't know what kind of budget you have, but as far as value is concerned, you're better off getting a new system than trying to upgrade your current one. Or you can take the budget-neutral route and keep using what you've got.

An LGA 775 micro ATX should work. Can you tell me what your processor is? It should be one of following:

Pentium D 900 series Dual Core (Presler)
Pentium D 820 series Dual Core (Smithfield, 90nm)
Pentium 4 631, 641, 651, 661 (Cedar Mill, 65nm)
Pentium 4 630, 640, 650 (Prescott, 90nm)
Pentium 4 520J/521, 530J/531, 540J/541, 550J/551 (Prescott, 90nm)
Celeron D 352, 356 (Cedar Mill, 65nm)
Celeron D 325J/326, 330J/331, 335J/336, 340J/341, 345J/346, 351, 355 (Prescott, 90nm)

Try looking in your System Information - it should tell you the actual CPU model. Also, I'm assuming you're running some version of Windows - can you tell me which version and whether it's 32-bit or 64-bit?

This one is beyond me, at least so far - I can't find a dual core 2.5 GHz that's listed as compatible with your motherboard. I can try to guess which model it is, but that makes finding a replacement motherboard that's compatible with your chip a gamble at best. I've already spent a couple hours on it without success - I'll have another go at it tomorrow.

Any other info you can get off the computer, like the name of system, model number, anything like that would be helpful. That info might be on a sticker or plate on the back or bottom of the case. Copying and pasting all the info off your system information page would help too.
