GTX 460 Crashing and Increasingly Heating up after Idling for 20-30 minutes! Help!

I just came back from a 5 day trip and my GPU is acting all funky and I don't know what to do!

My GTX 460 will idle at around 48-55c for about 20-30 minutes and then randomly spike upwards in temperature and will max out my GPU Load to 99% as well as eat up a considerable amount of GPU memory. This causes my windows to move like molasses and eventually requires me to restart my computer.

I've tried putting new thermal compound on the card, scanning my computer with malwarebytes and doing a system restore. Nothing seems to work! Any feedback would be appreciated.
