Building a gaming PC. I have most of the parts and am buying the things I'm missing. If something says purchased, it's a part I already have.

As I already said, I already have most of the parts. That includes the CPU, Motherboard, and GPU (notice they are marked as purchased). I didn't recently buy them or anything. I had them already and I wanted to use them for something so they don't just sit around.

I guess I was just wondering if there were any comments on the 4 things I don't have yet (CPU Cooler, HDD, Case, and PSU). Also maybe if there was an issue with the build (incompatibilities, etc) someone would let me know.

Also, what do you think I would be able to do with this rig? Could I play newer titles on high 1080p? Can I do basic video editing?

Cooler - cheaper, almost as good (a couple of degrees)
HDD - great
Case - if you like it then go for it
PSU - cheaper, but semi modular instead of fully modular. Your call on this one.

I did say that they weren't recent purchases. The first GPU was purchased right around when it came out and the second one was added maybe a year or so later. The CPU I think was bought in 2009 along with the board and RAM.

I'm not crazy; I would never buy these parts now when there are better, cheaper alternatives out there. However, since I already have them and they still work, might as well use them.

When I asked the question about being able to do this or that, I tried to make clear that I already have the parts and money isn't what I'm focusing on. I just wanted to know what I can expect from the build.

Another note: the HD 6950s have been flashed so now they're more or less 6970's.

As i7baby said you should be good for gaming @ 1080p/high
