First of all here are my specs:
Intel® Core™ i3 2100
GIGABYTE GA-Z77-HD3
SAPPHIRE DUAL-X R9 270 2GB GDDR5
Corsair Vengeance® — 4GB Single Module DDR3
Thermaltake Smart se 530w
Windows 8.1 x32

Got this card few days back in hopes of getting better frame rates... but unlucky me that didn't happen. Anyways i have been playing games like Crysis 2 on ultra settings with DX11 on 720p and i get only over 30+fps all the time (which is poor considering the card), same with BF3, sleeping dogs & max payne 3...
I also play Call Of Duty 4 (online) and in this game you need at least 250fps to have good enough movement and rate of fire, & i was sure my card will give me that, but for some reason i am only getting about 125+fps... even the HD 6670 can give 250fps lock on this game...
pls explain to me why this is happening... is this a bottleneck or is something wrong with my GPU?

P.S: all specs are new (only 2 months of age except for my CPU which is 2yrs old)

Should the i3 bottleneck the R9 270? Not necessarily, but it will hold back your potential. Your CPU is kind of "lower end" and you get draw my potential and performance out of your build with a better cpu. Ex: AMD 6300, 8350, or Intel i5.

Great answer here given about the same topic from a while back: "Your CPU will limit you my friend! The R9 270 is a great card and will handle all the games you speak of at Ultra settings at great FPS but your CPU has to be up to par with the performance your aiming for. I would first invest in an i5 and a K series at that, then buy the r9 270 later down the road." -Killa
