I'm getting some very substandard temperatures with my 3 month old corsair H60 water cooler. It was working a treat but a couple of days ago I tested it under stress and we hit 100c. Which is not good at all.

Having re-applied thermal paste and reset the heatsink a few times the best I can get down to is 35-43 idle and 70-85 under stress. Which I know is OK, but not for stock speeds with a water cooler.

Any ideas as to what is going on? Has my cooler already conked out?

I love spending all this money on computers...

yes it isnt the best but it should perform a lot better! http://www.pugetsystems.com/labs/articles/Review-Corsair-Hydro-H60-CPU-Cooler-Rev-2-171/ are you sure the pump maxes out its rotation? use mobo monitoring software to increase the pump operation.! ensure pump is connected to cpu_fan mobo header!

i have h60 v2 . my results i7 3770k / 1.216v / 4.4ghz / idle 40c / load 72c (stress test max 74c for 2hrs) summer time with 27c ambient room tems

Interesting! Think that applies to other liquid coolers? Sure would like to optimize my crappy H80.

I have difference experience. I found the pump should always be connected directly to a 12v feed from the PSU and run at full speed and the Fan should be connected to the CPU_Fan header as it will be PWM speed adjusted.

well since mobo monitoring software is inaccurate at displaying temps(tharmal radar in my case) and cpu fan(pump) auto profile usage corresponds to these false temp readings, i must use a more agressive profile to achieve good results
the difference between thermal radar and real temp is ~20c. ~50c and ~70c respectively. i also i have installed the radiator as seen in the review posted and running the fan as an exhaust. also due to the abscence of the cpu fan, the cpu- vrm area gets pretty hot so there must be very good tower ventilation.(top mounted exshaust fan(s) can greatly help) i originally expected better performance from h60 and i would recommend h80 for an intel overclocking system running above 1.2v to be able to maintain a more silent operation!

yes that provides best performance but it is very loud, however it should be prefered if temps exceed 75c!
