hi guys.

just in need of a little help with graphics cards.
I had a msi r9 270 which i just had to send back due to the fans leaking oil which was a real shame so i thought it would be time for an upgrade.

i am looking at these two cards but cant decide what the better choice is!

Gigabyte Radeon R9 280 WindForce 3X OC 3072MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card

or this card

Powercolor Radeon R9 280 TurboDUO 3072MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card

have these in mind there are a fair bit of price difference

the gigabyte card is £173.99
the powercolour card is £149.99

any advice would be great full

thanks sean

I've never had a Gigabyte or PowerColor card either (as I tend to go down the Nvidia route), however reading online their reviews tend to be similar; regardless PowerColor have been manufacturing cards for a long time, almost two decades.

I can't guarantee promising quality unfortunately with any AMD card, as many reviews for their cards contain both positive and negative reviews equally; I'm not sure on which one to believe. Personally I'm fond of AMD's price per performance point and in no way am I implying not to purchase AMD; you may find the PowerColor is a solid card.

To answer your question simply, PowerColor is an adequate brand for GPUs and they have been in the business for quite some time, they don't look like they'll be...

Both cards are identical in terms of performance, hence I would purchase the PowerColor to save costs. The Gigabyte has slightly better cooling with it's 3 fan design, regardless the PowerColor's cooling is satisfactory too.

As mentioned however, I'd purely save costs and purchase the PowerColor.

All the best. :)
