Which build is better and why?

Solution
Hahah LucoTF...

However in this case, (while I prefer Intel for a gaming machine at the moment) the AMD is the better choice between THESE 2 SPECIFICALLY.
The chassis on the Intel machine comes with a PSU, those bundled PSUs are junk.
Not to mention you can do some OCing on the AMD.

By the way, you had 2 CPU coolers on the AMD side?? LOL

BUT i would make these changes :

AMD :

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant

CPU: AMD FX-8320 3.5GHz 8-Core Processor (£97.00 @ Scan.co.uk)
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler (£24.25 @ Scan.co.uk)
Motherboard: ASRock 990FX Extreme3 ATX AM3+/AM3 Motherboard (£74.23 @ More Computers)...

Since the only real difference is in the processors,I'd suggest going with the AMD build because:-
1)It can be overclocked.
2)It has a higher clock & turbo speed.
3)Cache memory is higher(Quicker access to data stored).
4)It has twice as many cores & threads(Can run more applications at once).
5)It offers more bang for your buck.
