I'm going to buy a new gaming pc within 2~3 days
so i wanna you guys to give me your opinion/advice about my build whether i should change something in it or not :)

MOBO : Gigabyte GA-Z97X-UD5H-BK Black Edition
CPU : intel core i7-4770k haswell 3.5ghz 8m lga 1150
GPU : Gigabyte GTX 780 GHz Edition 3GB GDDR5
RAM : G.skill RipjawsX 16GB (2 X 8GB) DDR3 2133 CL9
HDD : Western Digital 500GB / 32MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5''
This 500GB HDD is enough for me but i wanna know if it is slow cuz i will buy another one then..

Thanks

It`s true that for games that we have now, 8Gb of RAM and an i5 4690k will suffice plenty.
But give me the budget, and 10 times out of 10 I will prefer to future-proof as much as possible, and I`ll go with 16Gb of RAM, an i7 4690k and the post powerfull GPU I can get, just in order to be prepared for the really demanding games that will hit the market in the future.

Tbh, I`m really hoping I`m going to be able to play Tom Clancy`s: The division on Ultra with good FPS when it comes out. But I`m kinda sure that I`m just dreaming with my build.

1. Get the i7 4790k CPU as the price difference is minimal.
2. Get a CPU cooler for some future overclocking (CM Hyper 212 Evo is a decent budget one).
3. Are you willing to get a AMD GPU for about the same price, but a bit more performance? (I`m reffering to R9 290x)

i need hyper-threading option cuz games will be using it in the future and i don't want to upgrade my cpu when they do
i need 16GB of RAM cuz there are some games that use more than 8GB such as WOW
also the recommended RAM for GTX 780 is 12GB
Thank You for your help :D

It's true that some games are uing multi thread but that's just marketing, and 8Gb is more than enough for gaming, trust me, and can you link me to where it says the recommended RAM for a 780 is 12Gb? I think you may have been horribly mislead

I Have sixteen gigs and i never use over 40% of it, And WoW can run on a ipad, Its only really dependent on the CPU.

"WOW needs 16gb of ram"
You sir, have been horribly mislead by someone. No game, least of all WOW, which is incredibly old, needs more than 8gb of ram.
Just get a 1tb HDD, they cost around the same price or about $5 more.

it says best RAM nmatch, not minimal RAM, trsut me , get a i5, and get 8gb, then get the 780 Ti

i completely understand what you're saying but i'm scared that i5 won't be enough for the upcoming games
i'm also gonna need more than 8GB of RAM in the future anyway and about the GTX 780 Ti
it's not worth the extra 200$ as it's about a 7-18% better (depending on the benchmark) for 40% more cost?
also i'm going to play on only 1 monitor and not even 4k. i think i will be cool with the GTX 780..

okay, but for your first 2 statements, it's just marketing, a i5 is quad core, which is more than enough to last you 5 years, and 8gb now is fine, there is no need for any more, even in the foreseeable future, games aren't even using up 3gb

i was going to do that if the 780 Ti was worth it don't forget that i'm going to buy Gigabyte GTX 780 (((GHz Edition))) 3GB GDDR5
look at the difference between them :

http://www.techspot.com/review/738-gigabyte-geforce-gtx-780-ti-ghz/
go to the end of the page and look at the benchmarks..

battle field 3 : only 4.4 fps better
battle field 4 : only 1 fps better
Tomb Raider : only 3 fps better
Crysis 3 : only 0.4 fps better
Dirt 3 : only 2.3 fps better
Far Cry 3 : only 3.8 fps better
Max Payne 3 : only 1.9 fps better
Sleeping Dogs : only 2.7 fps better
BioShock Infinite : only 2.8 fps better
Metro: Last Light : only 6.5 fps better

also there's not big difference between it and the 780 Ti OC
this is from techspot not from me..
now, do you think it's worth the 200$ extra ?

If I had the money yeah, i'd get it, but as I said before, i accept your decision to stick with the 780 but whoever gave you info that you need a i7 and 16gb of RAM was just horribly mislead and wrong
