Getting upgrade to play Planetside 2 better.

AMD A8-3870 APu (4 Core 3.0GHz Stock 3.4Ghz OC)
2x Radeon HD 6790 1G
16G RAM
650PSU
Win 7 x64

I wanted to but an upgrade to get some better frames in PS2 and wanted to know if I should Upgrade my CPU or GPU.

I have about $350 I can put towards a CPU or GPU or both?
Suggestions? Thanks guys!

Planetside 2 is very CPU heavy, I would suggest a new CPU and motherboard:

I don't understand, I can OC my CPU to 3.4 without much strain or temp and my Mother board is fine. Why shouldn't I get a AMD 4.0GHz six core for $129? (forgot the CPU name but was on Tiger Direct.)

Your A8 is running on a different socket to the 6 core.

A8 = socket FM2 / FM2+

AMD FX series = socket AM3 / AM3+

You can get an FX cpu if you want but you would still need a new motherboard

That A8 is just about the best CPU you can buy for your FM2 socket.

Also, clock speed is not a good way to compare cpu performance. The i5 Luco linked would perform better than the A8 or the fx series despite having a lower clock speed.
