Hi all,

I'm building a new PC for a friend with the following components:

ASRock H97M Pro 4 motherboard
Intel i5-4590
Sapphire Radeon R9 270, 2 GB
XFX TS 550W PSU
G.Skill Ripjaw 8 GB

When I first powered on the system I got 5 beeps meaning no GPU detected and a blank screen. I disconnected the GPU and connected the HDMI to the onboard video and was able to power up, install the OS, etc. So I figured the GPU was bad.

I then pulled the Sapphire HD 7850 out of my PC and swapped it in to my friends new PC and it worked fine. So I then took the new R9 270 and put it in to my old PC and it also works fine. So I tried putting the R9 270 back in to the new PC and got the same 5 beeps and a blank screen. i disconnected it again and even reloaded the BIOS on the motherboard, but for some reason it won't recognize it.

For right now I have the R9 270 in my old computer and I put my HD 7850 in my friends new PC.

Any thoughts? For some reason the motherboard just doesn't appear to recognize the R9 270.

Thanks,
Travis
