Hi, anybody know where the the serial number is on the XFX Pro 550W PSU?
Looked all over the visible parts of the PSU, nothing. Is it on a side that is blocked by the case? Will I have to take it out of the case to get the serial number?
I'm looking to RMA it because the fan is incredibly noisy when the GPU is under load, and I need the serial number to do so.

Thanks

If you don't have the packaging anymore then you'll have to remove the PSU to see it. It's on the specifications label.

A lot easier if you saved the box.

Thanks, so I looked on the box and found the sticker saying "Serial no.", seems like it must be the serial number for the PSU.
I go to XFX's support site to register the product, here - http://www.xfxsupport.com/customer/regshipbarcode.aspx
But it just tells me that it's not a valid serial number, anybody have any idea why? I tried the usual letters that look similar, eg replacing the O with 0, replacing the i with l, etc, still nothing. Tried some other numbers on the box, nothing.
Will there be a different number on the PSU itself? Or has Scan (who I bought it from) somehow messed up and given me the wrong serial number?

Hi - Yeah, slide the PSU out & get the ser # from the panel. It is possible Scan overlayed that area with
one of their own labels. It happens, I had a mfg rebate rejected because the retailer overlayed the
mfg UPC with their own.

It is definitely on the side opposite the fan. I just double checked.

Sorry for no response for a while, but I finally got around to doing it, and my PSU has a sticker on the side opposite the fan (the top side), like in the picture ko888 posted, and I entered the serial number, it's the same as the number on my PSU box and XFX's site still says it's not a valid number.
Any ideas? Should I complain to Scan (who I bought it through)?

Yes, I had to get the retailer (that overlayed the mfg UPC) to resolve an issue along the
lines of what you're going through.

I contacted scan, and they very quickly responded and instantly approved my RMA, much, much better customer service than XFX who still haven't responded after a few days, thanks for your help.

XFX is known for providing poor customer service, though.

Yeah, seems weird though that their main website is so nicely designed and their separate support site is terribly designed and has the grammar of a 6 year old.
