I brought Sony Bravia W60B Smart Tv and Sony DAV-DZ350 Home Theater a week ago. The Home Theater has a HDMI Out (no HDMI in). I wanted to use my laptop to watch movies in surround sound so i connected my laptop to the TV using HDMI and then used optical digital from TV to the Home Theater. I then played numerous surround tests through my laptop but was only able to hear the center, front left and front right speakers. Although some surround tests such as the helicopter test do give a surround experience that I assume is due to the home theater creating surround experience itself. Also when the home theater is connected to the LED it displays "1080p stereo" Any ideas to fix this problem?
