After I returned from vacation I decided to boot up my 4 month old PC, like normal. However, once I logged in and started browsing the internet the entire system lost power. No shut down screen, blue screen, or anything. I tested the PSU, a Seasonic X-Series 750W Gold, and it seemed to pass the paper clip test. However, since this incident I have been unable to boot the PC. When I hit the power switch I get a brief power LED and a small clicking sound then nothing, no fans, lights, or other noises.

To me this seems like a Mobo problem, for which I have another backstory. When I was installing the CPU heatsink I had the heatsink touch the thermal compound without my knowledge and when I brought it back across the Mobo thermal compound got in the ram slots and across the pcb. I tried my best to wipe it off with a paper towel and I had a fuctioning PC after.

I know I may seem like an idiot, but could this be the problem?
Thanks
