Will 450W be enough?

Hi!

I'm new here, and I'd like to ask the community about a problem.

My current set is now:
ASUS P8H61-M LE mATX
i3-2120 CPU
ASUS HD6750 1Gb GDDR5
OCZ Gold 2x2GB 1333 MHz RAM
WD Black 500GB
Chieftec 450w PSU

I ordered a new ASUS R7-260 video card, but I'm not sure if my PSU can provide enough power for it. How can I possibly detect if my psu is a bottleneck to the system?

Thanks for your help in advance,
Peter

Yes, your PSU will be able to provide enough power for that card. :)
It's impossible to test/detect if a PSU will be able to power anything, the only way you can really tell is to try it out, and if you get random shutdowns that indicates that the PSU is unable to provide enough power. But yeah, that PSU will work fine. :)

should be enough, but i would get something that is at least 80+ bronze google PSU calutor and put in all your stuff. if your PSU wont bottleneck it will simple not work or will not work very good. also are you building a pc or do you already have some of these parts?

Wow, thank you all for the quick and informative responses :)

I've tried the wattage calculator, it recommended 251 Watts for my system, but it seems too small to me. Does it mean if I had a 251w PSU it could still run my system?

Probably, but I wouldn't risk it. :p
And that's okay, glad to be able to help. Enjoy your new card! :D

It just sounds strange that a computer actually uses that small amount of power, if my PSU is rated just "80+", then it's effective wattage is 360w?

Maybe I have another question too: isn't that card a bit too strong for my CPU?
I mean i3's are budget cpu's, but if I swap my old 6750 for the R7, will the change be noticeable? :)
