Cheaper board, and the K version CPU.
I imagine you don`t want to OC, but this build is cheaper than the one you had, so please, do me a favor if not for yourself, and get the 6 pounds more expensive K version.
At one point, you might feel the need for a stronger CPU, and you`ll just be able to OC this one, in stead of replacing it.

The rest of your build looks great, I`d love to see some pictures of it once it`s done.

thanks man appreciate it!

Are you sure he really needs an R9 290? I would just go for a 280 as it pretty much runs every game at Ultra nowadays and is a bit cheaper.

My R9 280X gets just over 60 fps on Ultra in BF4, and new games will be even more demanding.
In order to be prepared for the future, the R9 290 is better, and as you can see, my build is actually cheaper that the one in the OP.
