I was wondering if this fan would fit on my existing AM3 heatsink.

ZALMAN CNPS9500A-LED 92mm 2 Ball CPU Cooler

Or do I need an adapter? Right now I have the stock Dell heatsink.

you mean you want to replace the stock cooler for amd and set this as the new cooler?? then yes it will support the am3 socket....

Excellent! Thanks.

I'm having a sensor overheating even though the CPU temps are normal. I'm hoping the new cooler will keep that sensor from shutting my computer down.
