So I'm pretty much narrowed down to these two models. I know the vg248qe has a huge advantage with its refresh rate for gaming. What I want in my monitor though is a clear picture with really good color and contrast. I don't want my game being noticeably washed out because I also like to enjoy the visuals in my game. I'm not someone who plays a ton of fps games. Occasionally I'll play TF2 or something but I'm not playing professionally. I also appreciate detailed images and crisp visuals. I'll primarily be using the monitor to surf the web, play games and watch videos. So please let me know which one you think is better for my preferences! Thank you. :)

It depends. As you already know, ASUS vg248qe is mostly for gaming as the 144 HZ won't mean much in a moving playing at 30. Also, you will need enough cpu and gpu power to produce 144hz and not too many configurations can. I recommend the ASUS ve278q as it will have better color accuracy and more size.

If it helps I do have a gtx 780 ti and an i5 4690k. I know the refresh rate won't matter for the movie I just don't want videos/movies I'm watching to be washed out or look bad on the monitor. Thank you for your input. :)
