Nvidia graphics driver causing system to freeze

Hi! I'm having some problems with my system. whenever I'm in a game the system randomly freezes. I'm pretty sure it's the Nvidia graphics driver that is causing the system to freeze.

My specs:
GPU: GeForce GTX 770
CPU: Intel Core i7-4770K CPU 3,50GHz
Memory: 8,00 GB RAM (7,95 GB useable)
Current Resolution: 1920 x 1080, 60Hz
Driver Version: 340,43 BETA
Operating system: Microsoft Windows 8,1 Pro

To be more specific about the freeze, when the system freeze I still hear the audio and my mic is working fine. I can't Alt+Tab, Ctrl+Alt+Delete, Alt+F4 (nothing works..) I have tried to use other drivers, but the same happens, system freeze. I have also read other threads, and what I got out of that is that I have to use the 314.22, but the oldest driver my graphics card (GTX 770) can use is 331.65.

What PSU are you using? system might not be getting enough power.

That's your problem right there, The 770 needs a Power Supply with 42A on the 12v rail, your PSU only has 40A, which is causing the system to freeze, it is not getting enough power.

Exact same PSU or same wattage? you may have a bad card as well. How old is the card, is it new?
Also is your friend running windows 8.1? or 7?

we have exact same card and PSU... and the card is good enough for me and it's new. I don't know what windows he is using. but I think it's 8.0

I meant bad card as in the card needs to be replaced. Audio and Graphics are separate units. Most of the time if the computer and game are still running and you hear sound correctly its the GPU that's bad. You should bring your card to your buddy's house and test that card on his computer to rule that out.

Because what you are experiencing here is not a "Freeze" you describe it as everything works but your video just goes "kaput" suggesting in fact its the video card itself. And if it is new like you state, you should have no problem getting it RMA'd and getting a new replacement from either the manufacture or place of purchase.

The 770 is a great card btw.

I could almost agree with this however i have seen this card run on this PSU plenty of times, and reading into his OP further the system does not appear to be freezing at all, just the screen goes blank.
