Should I buy a new graphics card or CPU?

Hi, I brought an AMD FX 8320 CPU and an AMD 7970 graphics card because I needed an upgrade to run Battlefield 3 and 4. Battlefield 3 worked but I experience lag when there are too many players or explosions and battlefield 4 works but the frame rate drops frequently and I can't play large maps. I wanted to buy an Intel CPU but I will need to buy a new motherboard also i wanted to buy an Nvidia graphics card.
Can someone please help me solve this problem?
Thanks

But for the time being could I change the core clock or the memory clock on the graphics card to improve my gaming experience

Yeah, you can overclock it to get 5-10 more fps in games, but make sure you have sufficient cooling or the card will get very very hot, I'd suggest you go for the sapphire Tri x Vapour editon, the cooler is very good and keeps the card at what people would call acceptable temps for amd cards and also quite good performing
