Sorry if in wrong category I can't seem to pinpoint the problem. So today I turned on the pc and it came up with the error bcd 0x0000034 I've googled it and went to get windows 8 disk to repair. When loading up the disk I set it to automatic repair it came up with a message error disk is locked please unlock and restarted the pc.

Loaded the disk again and went to command prompt to manual rebuild the BCD and when I type in the command comes up with there is a problem with your computer :( collecting information and MACHINE_CHECK_EXCEPTION but gives no error code

Now every time I try to reboot either os or cd it kicks and restarts I've even tried my windows 7 harddrive and same problem

So I guessed it was a hardware error I opened up my case and noticed my chipset fan wasn't spinning after checking bios I found it was set to auto I forced it on and it was able to load cd for awhile before restarting again.
I have tried taking out my ram and only putting one in, same thing happens could this be a CPU problem or motherboard? Anyone had similar problems

Spec:
Asus rampage IV extreme
Intel i7 4930k(something like that)
Corsair ax750
Radeon hd6970
Crucial m500 960gb ssd(os hd)
Other harddrives but use for storage and games
Corsair vengance 8gbx2 ram

I have played around with bios settings and reseting CMOS but no help also pointing an actual fan at CPU to see if it's overheating but no change

Any ideas?

Have you tried doing the steps above, with all of your hard drives disconnected, and only the Windows 8 Drive (the crucial m500?) connected?

It sounds like you have a lot of storage stuff going on. Is the Windows media definitely seeing your drives?

Do you get the option to "Load Drivers" before you start the automatic recovery? I'm more familiar with Windows 7, my apologies, but it should let you load SATA/RAID Controller drivers from the media that came with the motherboard.

Tell us more about your OS/Hard Drive Setup. You have a hard drive with Windows 7 and one with Windows 8 connected at the same time?

found out it was my mouse causing the hangs, most likely due to it having a small storage unit to remember macros from computer to computer. used a small laptop mouse and was able to reinstall without any hangs just have to reinstall all my programs again thank you rapajez for helping me out
