My computer *still* won't boot up

Hello, I'm the OP from the following thread

computer won't boot up

I just got a new power supply and plugged everything in. My computer still doesn't show any signs of life. Do you guys have any other suggestions or should I just take it to my local computer shop?

Lets go step by step to ensure you have it hooked up right:
1. Do you have the 24 pin power cable plugged into the mobo? (only 24 pin on board)
2. Do you have the 6/8 pin power cable plugged into the CPU power spot by the CPU? (this will be up by CPU)
3. Do you have the power switch flipped to the power on state?

It should fire up after that.
