I built new pc and having problems already, I had loaded new operating system 7 pro 64 bit and some drivers as well as anti virus on the Samsung 840 evo 250 g. I want to completely wipe it and start fresh, I know you can do a Secure erase or just format using the windows installation disk. I am not completely in the know how but assuming the reformat with operating disk is the way to go. So is this the best way to go and will it completely wipe everything off the SSD and put the fresh operating system on? Also how do I go about naming the drive something other than "c" drive so when I install digital download games they don't automatically go into the boot drive SSD. I haven't installed the HDD yet just trying to get new build up and running properly

Solution
For the first question, doing it within the Windows install is fine.

For the second part - Do not try to do what I think you are trying to do.
For instance....If you change the SSD boot to "E", that will be the boot drive. Anything downloaded will default to that.

How to circumvent the problem you think you will be having?
Change the default browser download location in the browser settings.
Change the default Documents/Pics/Music to somewhere on the other drive.
If talking about games, directly in the Steam or Origin client you can designate multiple other locations.

Basically, see these:
Win 7 & 8: http://www.tomshardware.com/faq/id-1834397/ssd-redirecting-static-files.html
Win 8.1...

ok so I am going to use windows disk and do a new install therefore wiping out everything else on the SSD. So just let the computer give it its "c" drive designation then?

Yes. During the install, when it asks 'where'go to "Advanced". You'll be present with all the existing partitions. Select each, Delete.
Eventually you'll have one large unallocated space.
Let Windows install to that and create what it needs.

And just let it be the C drive.
