Hi! This is my first time posting on Tom's Hardware. Sorry if I am doing something wrong in accordance to the rules. ;)

I am planning on buying a processor for the computer I am building. I am thinking either an i5 4670k or an i7 4770k. I have some questions.

1. Should I get the i7 and spend more? I will be playing video games, and likely recording them and editing videos. I don't need a major boost in video editing speed, as this is just a hobby. I have a fair amount of time on my hands, so I can wait awhile for rendering and stuff. Plus, it's a difference of 90 dollars.

2. Is the stock fan good enough? I won't be overclocking either processor, no matter what my choice of processor is.

3. Does anyone think it would be a good idea to get the 4790k or 4690k, as opposed to the ones listed above?

By the way, this is my rig so far:

Nvidia GTX 770
Asus z97-AR
16GB Corsair Vengeance 1866
AX760 PSU
2TB Seagate Hybrid SSHD
Asus Xonar DX

1. Get the i5; If you have a lot of time on your hands, the i7 isn't worth it.

2. Yes, the stock fan will be enough. Why are you getting a k-series CPU if you won't overclock?

3. The 4690k (or the non-k version if you won't overclock) would be a good choice since it's a bit faster than the original Haswell CPUs.

Judging by the answers you all gave me, I think I'll go with the 4770k. Thanks so much to everyone who answered! This is my first gaming-oriented pc build, so all help was appreciated! :)
